Val di Fiemme is the paradise of cross-country skiing!

Did you know that Val di Fiemme hosted 2 Cross-Country Skiing World Championships?

Val di Fiemme is entirely crossed by a really long slope that runs along the Avisio river, where every year on the last Sunday of January the Marcialonga race takes place. Many professional athletes but also amateurs take part in this competition, which constist in a 70km trail with 1080 m of difference in height.

If you have the chance come and watch it, you will have fun:  the party starts a few days before the competition and ends on Sunday, with the award ceremony taking place among local-products stands and supporters who bring the little villages of Val di Fiemme to life.

Moreover, if you are a real cross-country-skiing enthusiast you will find:

  • “Cross-country Ski Stadium” in Lago di Tesero (8 km away)
  • “Centro del Fondo” at Passo Lavazè (10 km away)
